EPPERSON TRILOGY—POEM TWO—

FOUND IN A UNITARIAN EASTER SERMON

 

according to experts at Harvard

driving

is more dangerous than drinking

 

our species

is generating

its own demise

 

we’ll have no Passover

this time

no Pesach

 

no opening of the tomb

no resurrection

no Easter

 

science is not enough

nor is ceremony

we have no sacred trust

 

we must all be

an environmental

ministry

 

contrary to Pierre Berton, we have no

Comfortable

Pew
